Lamentations 3:21-24: “Steadfast love of the Lord never ceases and God's MERCIES never come to an end, they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness.  The Lord is my portion, says my soul; therefore I will HOPE in the Lord.” We know that God is Hope; however, we still have troubled hearts. Our hearts can be heavy, broken, saddened, weary, jealous, anguished, and the list goes on. However, scripture says, “Do not let your hearts be troubled.”

As a disciple of Christ Jesus, what causes a troubled heart during this pandemic? Our hearts can be troubled by negative thoughts, negative people, isolation, worrying, sickness, financial depletion, food and sleep deprivation, and homelessness. We can also be troubled by a spirit of unrest that includes stress, sadness, brokenness, loneliness, and unforgiveness. Even in troubled times, God is saying, “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” When our hearts become troubled, let's invite the Holy Spirit to teach us peace. One way to heal a troubled heart is to pray. We don't have to hold back. We can cry out, "Abba Father, I stretch my hands to thee." We can cry out believing that Christ is the solid rock and that all other ground is sinking sand.

Even in the midst of this pandemic, we know that God will bring us through. We must speak it loudly, reminding ourselves that we will not be troubled.  We must rebuke the adversary in Jesus’ name. We must remember that if God blessed us before, God will bless us again. If God healed us last year, God wants us to have a testimony. We must use the Word of God to renew our minds, restore our hope, and cleanse our hearts.
